magsss

just picked up some issues of my 2 favourite magazines from britain
NME for my rock & mixmag for my electro
it has been too long. why are british magazines 10 times better + come with free CDs?

so anyways, heres me passing on interesting facts i learned from NME about some 2010 albums:

-MGMT's Congratulations is not going to have any tracks like Time To Pretend, ELectric Feel, or Kids. Theyre not afraid of making mistakes this time around and they really don't believe its going people are going to like it as much as Oracular Spectacular. In fact, they dont want any singles from this one. I don't know what I'm expecting at all.

-Sam Eastgate of Late Of The Pier reveals that theres still not going to be a new album from them for a while, but he is working on a side project with someone else whos in another band, hmm... theyre both drummers is the only clue. Super pissed though, I spend every day when im going to hear from Late of the Pier or Cut Copy, LOVE THEM.

-Crystal Castles. I was just realising a while back how their debut album was actually from 2008, so about time. They're keeping quite mysterious about it, but I have heard a track called "Baptism"[only live recordings], maybe itll be on it its very good.

-The Strokes FINALLY plan on releasing a new album late this year. Jesus.

-Friendly Fires. Do I even need to say anything? Im so pumped.

-Klaxons, oh my god yes... 2010 is going to be a good year haha, the last time my mom brought home an NME from Ireland Klaxons was on the cover, so like... 2007? Been too long my brothers.

-M.I.A. is describing her new album as "more musical", Diplo describes it as "Gucci Mane meets Animal Collective", sounds very promising.

-Foals apparently went crazy while recording in Sweden. Looks like its gonna be different this time around more "expansive" and longer songs. The band wants to grow up apparently.

-LCD Soundsystem says this is going to be their best work yet, but should probably be their last tour so i should think about catching them thise time around then...

-New Young Pony Club. Holy shit when was the last time I heard form these guys :|

-Metronomy "the plan is to make a sexual record, the kind of record you put on to woo a lady". HA, I can't wait.

-Hot Chip comming out February First, just got my hands on that title track "One Life Stand" earlier today actually, love their melodies :)

-We can also expect some Lightspeen Champion, Jack White, Arcade Fire, Mystery Jets, The Ting Tings, Gorillaz, Yeasayer, and The Wombats.

-Okay and apparently the guy from Pnau was the other guy in Empire Of The Sun [those crazy Australian bands owuld all be related eh...], and he left Empire of the Sun to go back to Pnau because they are getting the chance to work with Elton John of all people haha, but Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun says the bands not over yet, so expect another album this year as well.

[omg Pnau = heroes?]

This year looks promising.

I've recently become a music reviewer on the fantastic blog:

THE FASHION PRESS

A blog which I love and have been following since the beginning since my friend and her older sister started it.

Full of great bio's on up and comming models, street fashion, "do it yourselves", great artists, and fashion bloggers, its always a good read. Not to mention lots of fun pictures and some very talented writers, so give it a look.

I'll be posting there about once a week :)

Veritgo Stick?

I've been really interested in Lady GaGa lately, I feel like I just need to know more about her since she is so controversial...
At first she just looks like another mainstream pop act, but at a closer look she is a cery talented musician and singer with many influences of glam rock such as David Bowie and Freddy Mercury...

I'm pretty impartial to her music though. Very much like Madonna, I would have probably been REALLY into it a couple of years back, but now I just find it enjoyable, but I wouldn't listen to it if I had the choice. She has a different voice from most pop artists though, its very raw. But one thing is for sure that she is ONE HELL of an entertainer

Lately I've found myself watching her "Bad Romance" video just because I think its so interesting:

Not to mention the Alexander McQueen in that.
The more I listen to Bad Romance, the more I think I like it. Sad to think that I might only be not accepting in because its so popular and overplayed haha

So after more and more digging and trying to figure out her deal I found some "before she was famous" videos:

Fantastic eh, as well as this little 16 sec vid i came across which sounds like a song I would love:

So yeah, maybe I do actually like her, I'm just not that into her music. I really appreciate whats shes doing though, its been too long since we've had a pop act as big as her who puts on such a show, I wonder how long she'll last.

[Edit]

Man I want the old Lady GaGa :|

So heres some FANTASTIC movies ive watched recently:

Gran Torino 2008

Completly not what I thought this movie was about. I was waiting to see how this grumpy old man was going to mesh in the his neighbours and I was pleasently surprised how it turned out, very said but I LOVED Clint Eastwood and his character.

Garden State 2004

Just a neat little movies with some quirky characters, very enjoyable.

Lost In Translation 2003

Loved it! I loved the characters and all the antics they get in to, I'd love to visit Japan just to experience that kind of culture shock. Also there is a scene with "Too Young" by Phoenix.

GoodFellas 1990

Recommended to me by a couple of friends I finally decided to give it a god and what an amazing story and interesting look on how gansters work. Just overall fantastic.

Taxi Driver 1976

This one was always sitting around of my "movie list" because I heard it was a classic, and what a film. Some very interesting characters that always kept me guessing what they were doing. Plus its the "you talking to me?" film!

The Graduate 1967

FANTASTIC! Loved loved loved the story and all the characters. The main awkwardness really made it for me. Just so great and genuinely hilarious, pretty damn modern for its time as well. Seriously, who doesnt love the 60's, so cool. Also all the music is Simon & Garfunkel which is a huge bonus.

Theres nothing like a good movie, they take you to another place and make you want to change your life.

but in contrast to that heres a movie that looks like total shit, but I must see for a good laugh with my buddies:

"its sunday... AND THEYRE NOT OPEN AGAIN TIL FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

CRACKers

just jamming to
"Promise" by Larytta [mp3]

//////////////////////////////////////

So have you ever wondered
HOW THE HELL DO YOU MAKE CRACKERS JESUS CHRIST.
Well I do. Every day of my life. So I went on the hunt...

And with all that info I figured I was ready to just go and wing it...
So I basically eyeballed some flour, water, butter, garlic power, salt, garlic salt for good measure and pepper..? into the mixture because measuring is for squares and I knew what texture I was going for....

And I made the best crackers ever.
